President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) oversaw the swearing in of a new Cabinet and a number of other high-ranking appointees on Wednesday.
Taiwan’s former Premier Su Tseng-chang (蘇貞昌) and his Cabinet resigned last month following the ruling party’s historic losses in local elections late last year. Tsai then appointed former Vice President Chen Chien-jen (陳建仁) to take over as premier. Chen kept many key positions unchanged.
Notable new appointees include National Security Bureau chief Tsai Ming-yen (蔡明彥) and Vice Defense Minister Wang Shin-lung (王信龍).
The ceremony also included diplomats, like the newly appointed Ambassador to Belize Lily Hsu (徐儷文).
