The Foreign Ministry says Taiwan and the United States will enhance cooperation on education. That’s the word from Deputy Foreign Minister Roy Lee (李淳) on Wednesday.
Lee made the remarks after a visiting US State Department official Camille Dawson held a meeting at the Foreign Ministry on the same day. The changes will involve three moves: strengthening dialogue, expanding the Fulbright Program, and increasing State Department scholarships for study programs in Taiwan.
The two countries signed the US-Taiwan Education Initiative in late 2020. One of its aims is to promote a range of language-learning programs. Wednesday’s talks were the third high-level dialogue held as part of the initiative.
