The United States wants to relocate its arms inventory in East Asia to Taiwan. That was the word from Defense Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng (邱國正) on Tuesday.
Chiu says arms inventory is a topic tha's constantly discussed in the military, so Taiwan's army will continue to evaluate its own equipment regardless of foreign inventory entering the country.
Meanwhile, Premier Chen Chien-jen (陳建仁) says both Taiwan and the United States hope to maintain peace in the Indo-Pacific region. Chen says they will continue working together to ensure Taiwan's sovereignty remains intact.
Chen says maintaining peace in the Taiwan Strait is a shared objective among many democratic countries. He adds that Taiwan needs to prepare for war in order to prevent war from breaking out in the future.
