Taiwan’s Nantou Country contains a farm popular among tourists which is located more than 1,700 meters above sea level. However, this farm was recently seen posting job openings for people to look after their herd of sheep.
Video script:
Central Taiwan's Qingjing Farm is experiencing a staff shortage, and they are offering an average monthly salary of NT$27,000 (US$870) to people who have no experience to come work. That's right, you herd it here first.
One employee says the beauty and events held at the farm can't compare to anywhere else. In an effort to attract potential employees, the farm posted a series of photos to their social media. Dyed in the wool sheep lovers should take note of the chance to take care of sheep under beautiful cherry blossoms.
When asked whether the compensation would be enough of an incentive, one man says yes because of the natural scenery. One woman is hesitant and says the pay is low and the farm is fairly remote. Another woman says no because she can't see herself living at the farm long-term.
A farm representative says employees earn additional bonuses after working at the farm for a certain amount of time. He adds the farm distributes more bonuses if the farm makes a profit.
With a seemingly low salary offer, it seems the farm wool have to rely on those with a love for sheep to fill the vacancy.
