Radio Taiwan International is co-hosting the annual Grasstraw Festival for the second year in a row. The 15th iteration of the arts and cultural festival will take place in Chiayi County over two weekends for a total of four days.
Rti’s Vice President Isis M. Lee attended the opening ceremony on Saturday. Lee said she is honored to be partnering with the Grasstraw Festival again to celebrate diverse cultures.
Lee also brought five of the station’s language services to increase awareness of the event within different communities. She said the event will be promoted in Chinese, Taiwanese, English, Vietnamese, and Indonesian on Rti’s social media pages.
The festival invited 50 groups of performers and will have more than 200 performances over the two weekends. In addition, the festival will also have 14 food stalls representing countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, France, Spain, and more.
The Grasstraw Festival organized by Our Theatre is the largest arts and cultural festival in the greater Chiayi area. Visitors interested in diverse music and art performances are encouraged to attend the festival. The theme of the festival this year is Return of _, which symbolizes the Chiayi’s gradual return to normalcy since the COVID-19 pandemic first started.
