Taiwanese boxing champion Huang Hsiao-wen (黃筱雯) has brought home her second gold medal after winning the IBA Woman’s World Boxing Championships on Sunday. The fight was held in New Delhi, India.

25 year old Huang beat her opponent, Colombian boxer Yeni Marcela Arias Castañeda, by unanimous decision after three rounds. Huang competes in the bantam weight category. Huang had previously won gold at the same tournament in 2019, which was held in Ulan-Ude, Russia. She also won bronze at the Summer Olympics held in Tokyo in 2021.  Huang’s coach said that the win is a huge relief, as the fighter felt intense pressure to follow up her bronze win at the Olympics.

In a Facebook post after the match, Huang said she is not satisfied with only winning this competition. She said she will continue to compete in international competitions including September’s Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China and next year’s Olympic Games in Paris, France.
