President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) visited many groups of Taiwanese young professionals on Thursday to hear their experiences of working in New York.  The President passed through the United States en route to the Central American countries of Guatemala and Belize.

President Tsai visited Yun Hai Shop, which was co-founded by two young women, Cheng Yen-li (鄭衍莉) and Lin Si-yu (林思妤). The shop sells Taiwanese products including sauces, noodles, dried fruit, snacks, and gadgets like Tatung electric pots.

Afterwards, the President went to Win Son Bakery for a Taiwanese breakfast. During the meal, she met with several groups of people in different fields to hear about their experiences of working in New York.

Later in the day, President Tsai visited the AIA New York Office, Taiwanese-American chef Zhu Ruyin, and two female illustrators preparing for a competition in the United States. In the evening, the President attended a closed-door event at the Hudson Institute, a Washington, D.C. think tank, to receive the Global Leadership Award. Due to an agreement between Taiwan and the US, the event was not open to the media.
