Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che (黃偉哲) is promoting the region’s agricultural products in Japan. That statement came from his office on Tuesday, three days after Huang flew to Japan.
Local airline Tigerair Taiwan recently launched a flight plan to travel directly between Tainan and Sendai. Huang took the flight to Japan to strengthen relationships between Tainan and different Japanese cities.
Huang met with Maebashi Mayor Ryu Yamamoto during his trip. Yamamoto says Maebashi has always been a big supporter of Taiwan and representatives are planning on visiting Tainan in May.
Yamamoto adds that he was impressed by Tainan’s produce at a recent exhibition. He says he plans on selling Tainan produce at roadside rest stops near Akagiyama to promote Tainan to more local Japanese people.
In response, Huang thanked Maebashi for supporting Tainan’s agriculture industry. Huang says Tainan will continue to provide high quality products to sell in Maebashi.
