Taiwan's Presidential Office is open for overnight stay again after the COVID-19 pandemic. Registration is now open until June 30 of 2023.
“Spending a Night at Taiwan’s Presidential Office Building” is a popular itinerary that was first introduced in 2019, and it is also the world's first ever event of such kind.
In 2019, the opportunity attracted 167 applications from 33 countries around the globe. This event also attracted much international media coverage, including its promotional video reaching more than 30 million views, giving a strong testament of Taiwan's friendliness, freedom, and diversity.
Secretary-General to the President Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) says he hopes the world sees how Taiwan has transformed post-pandemic, and international visitors can make Taiwan their first stop after the pandemic.
Lin said the Presidential Office Building, though being the place symbolizing the highest authority of the country, is open to the public, local and foreign visitors alike. Lin said an event like "Spend a Night at Taiwan's Presidential Office Building" is further showcasing the openness of the space for the people.
Vice President of the General Association of Chinese Culture Cheng Li-chiun (鄭麗君) says Taiwan has never lose touch with the global community due to the pandemic and has built a stronger bond in our joint efforts in combating COVID-19.
