With Taiwan pledging to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, the Digital Affairs Ministry is launching the “T-Cloud” and “T-Ambassador” projects to help small businesses decrease their carbon emissions. At the opening ceremony, Digital Minister Audrey Tang (唐鳳) says she hopes the private sector can work with the government to reach the country’s net-zero targets.
Minister of the National Development Council Kung Ming-hsin (龔明鑫) also gave remarks at the event. He echoes President Tsai Ing-wen’s (蔡英文) pledge to reach net zero by 2050. Kung also says the council has mapped out a strategy to help Taiwan achieve its sustainable development goals. He adds that Taiwan already passed the Climate Change Response Act earlier this year.
The event organizers add their remarks by saying climate change should be taken seriously and every person has the responsibility to make the future sustainable.
