The defense ministry says two Chinese aircraft were detected in Taiwan’s southwest air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Monday. The two aircraft were part of a group of seven Chinese aircraft and three Chinese ships detected in the areas around Taiwan.
The Taiwan Air Force released a map of the intrusions which showed that a Kamov Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter and Yunshuji-8 reconnaissance aircraft had entered the ADIZ.
The defense ministry says that the Taiwan military is closely monitoring the activity in the Taiwan Strait and that its aircraft, ships, and shore-based missile systems are prepared to deal with any situation.
