The General Association of Chinese Culture, a Taiwanese non-governmental organization promoting cultural outreach, is teaming up with the Paperwindmill Theatre to bring Taiwanese culture and performing arts to Budapest in June.
The association and the theatre are invited by the Budapest city hall to perform at the city's 150 anniversary. Secretary-General of the association Li Hou-ching (李厚慶) says the one-week touring will be a great opportunity for both the performing group and local citizens to get to know each other's cultures, fostering meaningful exchanges that deepen understanding.
Li says the tour will also hold performances for Ukrainian refugees in Hungary who are displaced by the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. He hopes the plays will provide comfort to those affected by the war.
The Paperwindmill Theatre plans to perform a Taiwanese classic play "Norza: The Adventure to Dragon Palace,”the story about a little boy who fight dragons and protects his people from evil using this empathy, courage, imagination, and wisdom.
