The 2023 National Day fireworks celebration will be held at Taichung’s Wuqi Fishing Port. That’s the word from Deputy Interior Minister and preparatory committee head Hua Ching-chun (花敬群) in an interview on Friday. Hua met with Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen (盧秀燕) earlier this week to reach a consensus on the plan.
Hua says that the National Day fireworks show is an important celebration of the country. He says the event can also help promote national policies, show Taiwan’s achievements, unite the people, and garner international attention.
He adds that this year will be the first show in Taichung since 2014 and the city government has planned many activities for the occasion. Festivities will feature large-scale evening parties, special agricultural products, food stalls, and more, all of which should leave a deep impression on the people of the country.
The committee says, with cooperation between authorities from the central and local governments, this year’s event will bring new experiences to all Taiwanese people.
