President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) spoke on the three top winning teams of the 2023 GiCS Girls in Cybersecurity competition on Tuesday. She emphasized in her speech that information security is national security, and as Taiwan moves forward to becoming a digitalized country, the government will continue to strengthen the resilience of information security on all sides of society.

The President said that the government has integrated information security into various policies in the past few years. Activities and trainings have been held to raise public awareness and strengthen the information security of enterprises.

President Tsai said that she found the 2023 GiCS Girls in Cybersecurity competition to be quite inspirational. She pointed out that young people in Taiwan can learn not only from each other, but also interact with students from other countries in international competitions. She also said that she hopes the event will continue to grow in scale not only to break gender stereotypes but to also cultivate more information security talents.
