Taipei City Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) departed Wednesday morning for a four-day visit to Singapore, in his first overseas trip as mayor. The focus of the visit is to learn about the city-state's urban development and smart city initiatives.
In an interview before his departure at Taoyuan Airport, Chiang says that the goal of the visit is to learn from Singapore’s experience in several areas, including environmental sustainability, smart city initiatives, urban development, and transportation infrastructure. He cited the Singapore Green Plan 2030, which sets clear targets and action plans for sustainability, as a worthwhile model for Taipei to learn from.
The trip itinerary includes visits to the Ministry of Sustainable Development and the Environment, the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the Housing Development Board, and the Land Transport Authority.
