The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines teamed up with the Taiwanese Compatriot Association in the Philippines (TCAP) to deliver relief goods to the Philippine National Police (PNP) in a ceremony on Tuesday.

500 packages were donated to meet the urgent needs of victims impacted by Typhoon Doksuri. TCAP President Liang Yi-yuan (梁乙元) explained that the donation includes rice, rice noodles, cooking oil, and canned sardines.

Typhoon Doksuri’s strong winds and torrential rains triggered widespread flooding and landslides, causing extensive damages and casualties to the northern island of Luzon in late July.

The PNP Deputy Director Neri Vincent Ignacio, who accepted the donation,  expressed his gratitude on behalf of the nation. Ignacio complimented the Taiwanese for their kindness and said that the donated goods will be passed on to the victims. He also said that the Filipino police will continue to fulfill its duty and better serve Taiwanese expatriates in the Philippines.
