Southeast Asian language speakers are being invited to join in an upcoming essay writing competition. That’s according to a website post of the Kaohsiung Southeast Asia Industry and Academic Exchange Association (KAOSEAS), co-organizer with the Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages.
Running for three consecutive years, the competition aims to encourage interest among the youth to learn Southeast Asian languages. It also motivates first generation children to embrace their multiculturalism. This year’s competition will focus on the Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese languages and is open to interested parties aged 15 - 30.
The deadline for registration will be on September 28 with the competition to be held on October 14. The winning entry will receive NT$5,000 (US$156) as a cash prize. Interested parties can go to the KAOSEAS’s official website (https://kaoseas.blogspot.com/) for more details.
