Taiwan’s National Day Parade is just around the corner and preparations have begun. Hukou army base in Hsinchu will be open this Sunday, and the military's adorable big-headed mascots will be showcasing their dance moves.

Apache helicopters with tiger-stripe patterns, and fearsome shark-mouth paint will be making their first public appearance. The pilots will demonstrate their hovering abilities and showcase their skills in a performance.

Army Deputy Commander Yang Chi-jung (楊基榮) says the armed forces are looking for highly professional young people who will dedicate themselves to long-term service and work together to support national defense.

To showcase their commitment to safeguarding the nation, Mirage 2000 fighter jets will take to the skies reaching speeds of 300 nautical miles per hour. The military police will display their coordination and stability with a fleet of new American-made Indian Challenger motorcycles.

This morning, helicopters completed a flyover rehearsal above the Presidential Office while the armed forces marching band practiced outside. This year’s National Day event is expected to feature Black Hawk helicopters, Chinook transport helicopters, and Brave Eagle aircraft, highlighting the strength of the armed forces.

The Emerald Knights marching band from Japan has also been invited to perform in the National Day celebrations and will perform at Pier 7 in Kaohsiung. Students from local high schools in Kaohsiung will also be showing off their dancing skills.

As preparations continue, the public will be eagerly awaiting the National Day celebrations.
