Researchers at National Sun Yat-Sen University in Taiwan have developed an innovative nanomaterial that can help combat carbon emissions. This new groundbreaking carbon capture technology uses nanostructured photocatalysts to convert carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide.

The discovery was published in the top journal Applied Catalysis B: Environmental and is the first of its kind in the world. Assistant Professor Li Hsuan-hsi (李炫錫), who leads the research, says that their new technology has the potential to be used in a variety of applications, including chemical industrial raw materials or fuels.

Li says that the preparation process is simple, safe, and environmentally friendly and could help alleviate environmental issues such as rising energy demand and global warming. If related industries can widely apply this technology in the future, it will help reduce carbon emissions and achieve the possibility of sustainable environmental green energy.
