The Taichung City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau has launched a series of hot spring activities that the public can enjoy from Wednesday until the end of October. At the opening ceremony on Wednesday morning, Taichung City Tourism Director Chen Mei-hsiu (陳美秀) welcomed tourists to come take a dip in the springs and taste the city’s delicious food.
The city also invited representatives from Aomori and Tottori Prefectures of Japan to jointly market the hot springs in their respective areas. The Japanese representatives say they look forward to the joint development of the hot spring industry in the two countries.
The Tourism Bureau has organized a number of events in the Guguan, Dakeng, Dongshi, Wuri, and Houli areas. Activities include a lawn concert, holiday markets offering cultural and creative products, local agricultural specialties, and food trucks. Tourists staying at any participating hot spring hotel can also receive lottery tickets for the chance to win free accommodations, a wine tour, or even a trip to Aomori or Tottori, Japan.
