A 3-day electronics and manufacturing exhibition that combines several longstanding industry shows under one roof kicked off at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center on Wednesday. The joint showcase brings together the Taipei International Electronics Show (TAITRONICS), the Taiwan International AIoT Show, the Taiwan Printed Circuit Association (TPCA) Show, and the International Optoelectronics Exposition (OPTO Taiwan).
Speaking to the press, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) Chairman James C. F. Huang says the exhibition boasts nearly 600 participating companies and over 1,900 booths, a 20% increase from last year. He says the event has attracted nearly 1,000 international visitors from 69 countries.
Huang says Taiwan's electronics industry has faced many challenges this year rooted in the COVID-19 pandemic, such as sluggish demand and inventory issues. He adds however that the sector has shown signs of recovery since the beginning of the fourth quarter, and he anticipates that the electronics industry will rebound in the coming year. Huang says that this year's exhibition can help rekindle business opportunities, and even help the industry surpass its pre-pandemic levels.
TAITRA says that this year's exhibition features a number of pavilions with different themes including future cities, smart mobility, cloud-based IoT, renewable energy, and smart home appliances.
