President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) attended the opening ceremony of the 2023 Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Association (FAPA) Congress in Taipei on Thursday. The event is held for the first time in Taiwan in 13 years from October 24 to October 28 and will be joined by more than 3,000 individuals from 24 countries.
In her opening remarks, Tsai paid tribute to all the pharmacists from across the world, saying that a resilient and reliable public health system would not be possible without the support of pharmacists. She also mentioned that the endeavors of major pharmacies and pharmacists during the COVID-19 pandemic have helped Taiwan overcome the challenges of the disease.
Tsai encourages Taiwanese pharmacists to take the opportunity to exchange ideas with international specialists and improve their expertise. She said she hopes that Taiwan can also share its experiences of disease prevention and treatment with the world, making contributions to the global progress of medicine.
