The Foreign Ministry on Friday thanked the Japanese government for helping evacuate a Taiwanese national and his family from Isreal the previous day. The Taiwanese man along with his Israeli wife and their two children were evacuated from Tel Aviv to Tokyo.
The ministry says that it maintains constant communication with like-minded embassies in other countries. When it found out that Japan was preparing to evacuate some of its citizens using a military transport plane, it inquired into Japan’s willingness to allow the Taiwanese family to join them.
The ministry says that Japan and Taiwan are partners in the Indo-Pacific region that share universal values of democracy, freedom, and human rights. The assistance in evacuating each other’s nationals from crisis zones demonstrates the friendship between the two countries. The ministry adds that it will continue to use all of its available resources to ensure the safety of its citizens abroad.
