The Federation of International Human Rights Museums-Asia Pacific (FIHRM-AP) is holding its first annual conference in Taipei. The conference is themed ‘Synerging for Human Rights’ and will last from Monday to Friday.

In his opening remarks, FIHRM-AP National Human Rights Museum Director Hong Shi-fang (洪世芳) said that no one should be forgotten on the path to human rights and that through various exchanges, human rights values can become universal.

Hong also noted that the war in Ukraine and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict show that war and violence are still a reality in the world. He hopes to promote cross-disciplinary and international exchanges, and to gain more attention for ‘Synerging for Human Rights’.

He also states that after its establishment in 2019, the FIHRM-AP had to overcome pandemic challenges, but through official websites, online workshops, and curations in 10 languages, there are currently 42 institutional members and 52 individual members working together.
