President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) attended the opening ceremony of Micron Taiwan’s fourth factory in Taichung on Monday. In her speech, she said that she is pleased to see Micron continue to expand investment in Taiwan and affirmed that Taiwan is a safe and reliable investment location.

Micron President Sanjay Mehrotra came to Taiwan to attend the ceremony and said that Micron will deepen its presence in Taiwan and further strengthen Taiwan's positioning as a center of excellence in Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) manufacturing.

In addition to congratulating Micron on this achievement, President Tsai also said that as recent global challenges demonstrate, it is more important than ever to work with reliable partners and develop secure supply chains. She continued that no country or industry is immune to the impact of events such as the COVID-19 epidemic or Russia's invasion of Ukraine, but Taiwan has excelled in proactively responding to these challenges and ensuring socioeconomic stability.

The president emphasized that Micron is a key force in promoting economic growth and innovation in Taiwan and around the world. She said she looks forward to seeing the company continue to grow in Taiwan and achieve greater success in global industries.
