Colorful flowers in yellow, red, and white are strewn across several fields. These magnificent views of the sea of flowers are a wonder to behold.
Welcome to the Xinshe Sea of Flowers in Taichung. After a two-year pause, this must-see attraction is back again. The Xinshe Sea of Flowers has once again merged with the Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival to launch a 23-day flower exhibition.
The exhibition will officially open to the public this Saturday. However, there are already many people coming to the nearby area to get a sneak peek.
One onlooker says that the theme this year is quite different from last year. Another onlooker says everyone from Taichung should come and take a look.
This year’s main attraction is a huge flower castle that reaches a height of 16 meters, as tall as a five-story building. Once the show has been opened, the castle will even feature misty fog effects, adding another dimension to the experience.
Taichung City Tourism Director Chen Mei-hsiu (陳美秀) says this is the largest flower exhibition in Taiwan, covering 2 hectares. She says 200,000 plants were used for this year, with a total of 23 different types of flowers.
But the beautiful natural scenery of this season is not only limited to the Xinshe Sea of Flowers. Wuling Farm’s golden ginkgo trees will make you feel like you are in a fairy tale. While chrysanthemum fields in Miaoli are sure to impress.
These natural visual splendors have a short season, so make sure to find the time to see them while you can.
