A program aimed at tackling youth unemployment in Kosovo held a job and internship fair in Kosovo on Tuesday, co-sponsored by the Taiwanese government. The program, known as the Private Sector Youth Initiative, is run by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Taiwanese Representative to Hungary Liu Shih-chung (劉世忠) attended the fair and met with the Head of EBRD’s Kosovo office Sergiy Maslichenko to discuss the program and expanding cooperation between Taiwan and Kosovo.

According to a press release from the Taipei Representative Office in Hungary, Liu said in his speech that the program brings together schools and businesses to offer internships or apprenticeships to students. Liu says Taiwan is willing to share its experience in the IT and semiconductor industries with Kosovar companies to help the local economy.

The EBRD is implementing several programs in Kosovo, including promoting private sector development as well as training programs for disadvantaged groups.
