Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry and the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) both affirmed the growth of Taiwan-U.S. exchanges on Tuesday, during a cocktail reception co-hosted by the ministry and the American State Offices Association (ASOA). According to their website, ASOA works to enhance trade and investment ties between individual U.S. states and Taiwan.
Speaking at the event, the ministry’s North American Affairs Director General Wang Liang-yu (王良玉) highlighted the strong partnership between Taiwan and the U.S. She says the addition of trade offices from Arizona, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Virginia as well as the numerous Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) signed by US governor-led trade delegations this year demonstrate the strengthening of the partnership.
Director of AIT’s Agricultural Trade Office Emily Scott echoed Wang’s comments, saying she was happy to witness the growth of state government offices in Taiwan from 8 to 17, which showcases the depth of exchanges.
