A Japanese high school band that performed at Taiwan’s National Day celebrations in Taipei last October has returned to Taiwan to give residents of other cities a chance to see their performance.

The award-winning Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Band, fondly nicknamed the “Orange Devils” due to their bright orange costumes and energetic performances, is back in Taiwan! The band is visiting from December 9 to 15 and will be holding performances in Kaohsiung, Taipei, and New Taipei City.

Those who missed the band’s first performance last Sunday were able to watch a special pop-up performance of the band at the TAi Urban Resort hotel where they stayed, swapping their trademark orange outfits for student uniforms. Some of the audience members say that they started waiting for the special performance from as early as 7:10 am.

The band had first performed on Sunday to a crowd of around 85,000 people on Kaohsiung’s Shidai Boulevard.

To welcome the group, the Kaohsiung Music Center even changed its external lighting to orange. Arrangements were also made for students from other Taiwanese high schools to have dinner and meet the Japanese students.

Whether in orange costumes or not, the students from Kyoto Tachibana Senior High School Band are sure to catch your eyes with their friendly smiles and vibrant energy. Those living in Taipei should be sure to keep an eye out for them as they head north in the coming days.
