The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced on Wednesday that the presidential and vice-presidential candidates will be given the opportunity to present their policies through televised public forums to be held later this month.
The public forum for the presidential candidates will be held on December 20, 26, and 28 while the vice presidential public forum will be held on December 22. They will broadcast on both live TV and the CEC website.
The CEC said that in accordance with the law, the total time given to each candidate for their policy presentation will be 30 minutes, which will be divided into three rounds of 10 minutes each.
The CEC added that it will also hold televised policy presentations for the first time for political party candidates vying for the legislator-at-large and overseas compatriot seats. These will be broadcast on January 8, 2024, at 6 p.m. on the Chinese Television System (CTS).
