Visitors to one of Nantou’s famous temples can get their hands on some lucky coins to bring prosperity in the new year.

In preparation for the Lunar New Year, the Zhushan Zinan Temple in Nantou will be giving out lucky coins for free. The fortune coin set is designed with the theme "Dragon Embracing the Wind and Rain” and is made with a wooden base and a golden dragon. The set comes with gold and silver lucky coins alongside an ingot.
Enthusiastic visitors at the temple describe the fortune coin sets as special, very beautiful, and of good quality.
Visitors can start queuing up starting at 8 p.m. on December 31. The temple's chairperson Chuang Chiu-an (莊秋安) says that as long as people come before 10 a.m. on January 1, they will definitely be able to get one.
Limited-edition golden eggs are also available. The first 4,450 people in line will be able to get their hands on the golden eggs which offer the chance to win coveted prizes such as gold rings or even cash.
The temple has been giving away the lucky coins for 12 years and has not only captured local enthusiasm but has also spurred neighboring businesses to capitalize on the craze offering products from gift boxes to water bottles.
