Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and Intel Taiwan announced on Thursday their cooperation in a joint high-performance computing (HPC) cooling certification laboratory.
ITRI Materials and Chemical Engineering Laboratories General Director Tzong-Ming Lee (李宗銘) explains that immersed liquid cooling technology directly transfers the heat energy generated by components to the coolant for heat dissipation. Compared to traditional methods, this new cooling system can reduce carbon emissions by a significant 45%.
Intel Taiwan Branch Vice President and General Manager Grace Wang (汪佳慧) says that immersion cooling is an emerging technology with much higher energy efficiency. However, she points out that it requires verification and testing to assist enterprises in its utilization. Wang emphasizes that Intel, together with ITRI, will work with Taiwan's supply chain to jointly promote advanced cooling solutions.
