The Central Weather Administration is predicting another wave of cold temperatures starting Saturday evening and continuing through to Monday.
Currently, the cooling effects of the northeast monsoon have most northern to central Taiwan areas below 10 degrees Celsius to minus 7.9 degrees in Yushan National Park. Temperatures will drop even further over the weekend. Monday looks like it will warm slightly, but rainfall is expected due to a wave of moisture moving out of South China.
Weather forecaster Zeng Zhao-Cheng (曾昭誠) says that if water vapor in the mountains coincides with low temperatures, Taiwan may see more snow above 3,500 meters.
