Taiwan’s presidential and legislative elections will be held on Saturday. As traffic is expected to climb up due to voters returning to their registered hometowns, the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) announced on Monday that two more trains will be made available. Ticket booking for the added trains will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
The TRA says that, in preparation for the elections, they have conducted a review of the reservation status and have decided to add two EMU3000 Tze-Chiang trains to the Western Main line to share the passenger count. This route serves approximately 200 million passengers each year with a total track length of 404.5 km (251 mi) running through all major cities on Taiwan’s west coast from Keelung to Kaohsiung.
For train numbers, times, and to reserve seats, visit the TRA official website or download their e-booking app.
