In an interview with Era Television, President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) reflects on her eight years in office, saying that she has worked hard to make Taiwan an integral part of the world and cross-Strait relations a joint task for the world to manage together.
The President says Taiwan’s existence has become very important and that if it ceases to exist one day, the blow to the world will be tremendous. Therefore, countries will work together to manage the risks and not let it get out of control.
Tsai also points out that Taiwan’s role in the global supply chain is irreplaceable. She says that as long as the Taiwanese people have the determination to safeguard their country, other countries will treat Taiwan as their friend and support it.
