The Central Election Commission chairperson Lee Chin-yung (李進勇) says that he invites the public to oversee the vote-counting procedure at a press conference on Monday, refuting the allegations of fraudulent vote-counting procedures.
Lee says he and the vice chairman Chen Chao-chien (陳朝建) will resign immediately if there’s any voter fraud or intentional miscounts by the election workers at the poll stations.
Chen points out that many of the videos online are edited, intentionally putting the wrong audio tracks on the videos to mislead the public.
Former Taipei city council member and social media influencer Froggy also points out the difficulty of committing voter fraud in Taiwan. He said that it's nearly impossible given the transparency of the vote-counting process, during which all parties send representatives to supervise.
