The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) announced on Wednesday that it will send a trade delegation to North and West Africa from May 4 to May 18. The delegation plans to visit Nigeria, Algeria, Ivory Coast, and Ghana.

TAITRA will hold its first trade show in Nigeria's largest city to showcase Taiwan's innovations in technology, machinery, energy, and other sectors to potential clients in the region.

According to TAITRA, African markets have huge potential. TAITRA says Nigeria is one of the most important crude oil suppliers in Africa, presenting huge market opportunities. It says Algeria is also one of the largest markets in North Africa and is rich in natural gas and minerals. It adds that Ivory Coast and Ghana are the largest cocoa producers, accounting for 63% of global production.

TAITRA sees the upcoming mission as a pivotal step for Taiwanese businesses venturing into the African market and urges them to strategically position themselves early.
