President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) on Thursday met with bipartisan U.S. Congressional Taiwan Caucus co-chairs, Mario Diaz-Balart and Ami Bera, and Lithuania's parliamentary delegation led by Matas Maldeikis.
Tsai expressed gratitude for the U.S. Congress' longstanding bipartisan support and highlighted the Congressional Taiwan Caucus's role in deepening economic and trade ties. She also showed appreciation for Taiwan's inclusion in the U.S. Indo-Pacific framework and urged swift resolution of the dual taxation issue, emphasizing its economic impact.
Tsai pointed out that the Lithuanian visit represents long-standing bipartisan support and conveys a message of commitment to safeguarding democratic values. She thanked Lithuania for supporting Taiwan's international participation and called for global attention to the Taiwan Strait issue.
Tsai says that she looks forward to increased cooperation and exchanges across various fields in the future to enhance mutual democratic and economic resilience, and jointly contribute to global prosperity.
