Taiwan High-Speed Rail Corporation (THSR) plans to reduce Lunar New Year travel congestion by adding 8 additional trains (5 southbound, 3 northbound) from February 6 to 15. Due to high demand, ticket reservations for these extra services will open on January 27. During the 10-day Lunar New Year period, the company says it will add a total of 461 services, providing 1,875 train services altogether.
THSR says it will expand non-reserved seating capacity during peak travel times, particularly on the days leading up to and following the holiday. Passengers can check real-time station crowd information on the company's website, with yellow and red lights indicating potential wait times exceeding 30 and 60 minutes, respectively. The information will also be available on the T-EX mobile app.
