People could still call the 1996 hotline of the Interior Ministry during the Lunar New Year holidays. Staff will still be operating the 1996 hotline assisting callers with emergencies such as reporting a lost ID. That’s the word from the Interior Ministry Deputy Director Yen Wen-chang (嚴文常).
Yen said that while most businesses and civil offices would be closed during the Lunar New Year holidays, the 1996 hotline will still be operating from its usual hours 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Yen also reassured that callers could still reach staff members outside of regular hours via the hotline reporting a lost ID.
The Interior Ministry also announced that should people need to get household registration tasks done after the holidays, they could first register via the Ministry’s online registration system at https://www.ris.gov.tw/app/portal/671 to speed up the process.
