North Korea's Supreme People's Assembly on Thursday voted to cancel all economic cooperation agreements with South Korea, according to North Korea’s official KCNA news agency.

The cancellations include the special law regarding the Mount Kumgang tourism project, a major milestone in improving North-South relations. The mountain is just north of the South Korean border, and nearly 2 million South Koreans have visited the site since the agreement went into effect in the early 2000s. Tours from South Korea to the mountain resort were suspended in 2008 when a South Korean tourist was killed by a Northern guard for straying into a restricted area.

North Korea has previously said that it considers South Korea to be an enemy with which it is at war. Last year North Korea also canceled a 2018 deal aimed at reducing military tensions with South Korea.
