An opening ceremony on Monday commenced the five-day countdown until the official opening of Taiwan Lantern Festival’s High-Speed Rail (HSR) Lantern Zone. Tourists and locals alike are invited to come celebrate Lantern Festival which begins on the 15th day of the first lunar month, or Saturday this year.

At the press conference, Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che (黃偉哲) said that the Anping Lantern Zone, built and maintained by the Tainan City Government, exhibits 30 lighting installations and over 2.8 million people have visited the district since its opening on February 3.

Huang added that the High-Speed Rail (HSR) Lantern Zone will have 300 beautiful installations about to be displayed, coinciding with the 2024 World Orchid Conference (WOC) and Taiwan International Orchid Show (TIOS) at the International Convention Center (ICC) Tainan.
