Digital Minister Audrey Tang (唐鳳) emphasized the urgent need for international collaboration in cybersecurity for Taiwan in her speech at the 2024 Swiss Cyber Security Days (SCSD) on Tuesday. The SCSD is a leading cybersecurity forum that took place from Tuesday to Wednesday in Bern.

In her pre-recorded speech, Tang highlighted how Taiwan is a hotspot of international cyber attacks and it urgently needs to strengthen cross-border cybersecurity and international cooperation to combat them. Tang says that safeguarding cybersecurity is not something that can be achieved by a single country alone, and collaboration is key.

Tang highlighted how Taiwan actively participates in the NATO Cyber Defense Conference (CyCon), and organizes its own cross-border Cyber Offensive and Defensive Exercise (CODE) and the Advanced Cybersecurity Exploration Conference (ACE).

This was the fifth year of the SCSD, and it attracted professionals from industry, government, and academic circles all over the world. The Taipei Cultural and Economic Delegation to Switzerland also set up a Taiwan pavilion, which showcased Taiwan's cybersecurity and economic strength through videos for attendees. Taiwanese companies such as Acer, China Airlines, and Giant were also featured at the pavilion, while Trend Micro set up its own booth to exhibit the latest antivirus software technology.
