Tigerair Taiwan has announced that three direct flights per week from Taoyuan to Phú Quốc, Vietnam will be available starting April 2. Tigerair issued the press release on Monday, adding that the new route will launch at a promotional price of NT$3,299 one-way before taxes.
Phú Quốc is the largest outlying island in Vietnam, located roughly 200 kilometers off the southwest coast and famous for producing fish sauce, pepper, and pearls. It has become an emerging tourist attraction in recent years and is the only visa-free tourist area in Vietnam.
Tigerair details that in the initial stage of service, three flights per week with outbound flight number IT557 will take off from Taoyuan International Airport at 2:40 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Return flight number IT558 will depart from Phú Quốc International Airport at 6:25 p.m. also every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
