The Defense Ministry reported on Wednesday that from 9:55 a.m. onwards, 10 Chinese military aircraft were detected to have crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and its extension into the surrounding airspace near northern, central, and southwestern Taiwan.
The ministry says the intruding aircraft were conducting joint combat readiness patrols and a total of 15 Chinese military aircraft and 11 naval vessels were observed operating around Taiwan. The aircraft included Chengdu J-10 fighter jets, Shaanxi Y-8 military transport planes, and drones.
The ministry emphasized that the military is closely monitoring the situation and stated that air and naval patrols were deployed with land-based missile systems to respond to the activities.
