Taiwan's representative to the United Kingdom Vincent Yao (姚金祥) met with U.K. Trade Policy Minister Greg Hands on Tuesday. This marks Yao's first meeting with Hands in his capacity as Taiwan’s representative to the U.K.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Hands expressed his pleasure at meeting Yao following his visit to Taiwan in 2022. He was visiting at the time to co-host the 25th annual U.K.-Taiwan Trade Talks and met with President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) and other senior officials.
Hands said that he and Yao discussed the U.K.-Taiwan Enhanced Trade Partnership (ETP), the recently concluded 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization and increasing cooperation in trade, technology and other areas.
The ETP was signed by Taiwan and the U.K. in November last year with dialogues planned in areas like bilateral investment, digital trade and renewable energy.
