Taiwan's Foreign Ministry partnered with the Foundation of Women's Rights Promotion and Development (FWRPD) to organize "Taiwan Gender Equality Week" (TGEW) on the occasion of the 68th annual Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) on March 11-12 in New York City.
Foreign Ministry Department of NGO International Affairs Director General Andy Kang-I Chen (陳剛毅) said on Thursday that the ministry has been collaborating with the FWRPD since 2020. Chen emphasizes that, in line with the theme of CSW68, TGEW aims to showcase Taiwan's efforts in promoting women's empowerment and gender equality from a cultural perspective.
During the TGEW forum "Taiwan Main Stage," President of the Taiwan Academy of Finance and Banking (TABF) Hank C.C. Huang (黃崇哲) will share successful cases of public-private collaboration in enhancing women's economic power and financial decision-making.
Vice President of the International Federation of Women in Legal Careers Denise Scotto and former U.S. ambassador-at-large for global women's issues Kelley Currie will also attend the event celebrating Taiwan's efforts in realizing gender equality.
