The investigation into Sudan Red dye use in food materials continues as some counties and municipalities announce bans on chili and curry powders in schools and elder care facilities. Premier Chen Chien-jen (陳建仁) says that the government is working quickly to trace the source and cooperating with local governments to ensure food safety.

In addition to previously reported companies, the New Taipei City Health Department has added Bao Hsin Enterprise to the list of businesses carrying products that have tested positive for Sudan Red. Health Minister Hsueh Jui-yuan (薛瑞元) said in an interview that this contamination is being investigated and added that inspections are now required of all importers.
