Czech Governmental Envoy for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Tomas Kopecny is due to arrive in Taiwan on March 18 to strengthen support and cooperation for Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts.
On Tuesday, Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry said the visit will include discussions on rebuilding projects such as water treatment facilities, cogeneration energy systems, and primary healthcare facilities. The Foreign Ministry says it welcomes Kopecny’s visit.
Additionally, Kopecny aims to engage with the Ukrainian community in Taiwan to understand their expectations and recommendations for the reconstruction of their homeland.
Taiwan and the Czech Republic signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) in November and December last year to help Ukraine rebuild key infrastructure and its healthcare system. The former focuses on meeting the basic needs of water and electricity for Ukrainian citizens, while the latter aims to collaborate on rebuilding Ukraine's primary healthcare system.
