Vice President and President-Elect Lai Ching-te (賴清德), accompanied by Economic Minister Wang Mei-hua (王美花) and Chiayi County Mayor Weng Chang-liang (翁章梁) visited the Asia UAV AI Innovation Application R&D Center Friday morning.
In a speech, Lai said that he hopes the government can cooperate with front-line players to solve difficulties and advance the industry, which will strengthen Taiwan’s global presence and marketing around the world.
Lai emphasized that national defense and economy are the two pillars that support the survival and development of a country. He stated that to allow Taiwan to continue moving forward, he says he hopes to quickly integrate matters related to national defense and national security before taking office on May 20.
Lai held discussions with semiconductor manufacturers at the Hsinchu Science Park on Tuesday and will also visit the southern air defense base to conduct visual guidance work Friday afternoon.
